The Propane Reserve System kit contains the following:
Are you tired of having your forklift or propane equipment run out of propane at the wrong time? I have found the solution by making a reserve tank that mounts to your equipment and ties into your existing system. How it works is you have a small extra tank that gets mounted to your equipment in a safe place then when you run out of propane you simply turn off your big tank and open the reserve tank.
You then restart your machine and finish your job or return to where your extra full tanks are to put on a new tank. No more down time or dead forklifts. No more being stranded and having to walk to get a new tank. No more having to stop the assembly line because the forklift is in the way or stopping traffic because it ran out of propane while you were unloading a truck in the street. Will fit any forklift Catapiller, Toyota, Komatsu, Nissan, Hyster, Clark, Yale, Daewoo and many more.
Using the brackets and bolts provided, place the bracket on one side of the roll bar and the flat iron on the other side sandwiching the roll bar in between. Make sure the bracket is in a safe place so that it does not block your sight and will not get hit by anything. Remember to keep the bolts as close to the post as possible.
Follow the original hose from the main tank to the fitting with the pop off valve. If you cannot find this fitting, contact your local dealer to ensure that you are hooking up to the right place. When you find the “Y” fitting with the pop off valve, attach the “T” fitting. Take off the hose from the main tank and the pop off valve and put on the double female flange fitting. Then connect the “T to the other end of the female fitting. Note before and after pictures.
Attach existing hose to one side of the “T” fitting. Attach new hose provided to the other side of the “T” fitting. (This hose will attach to the reserve tank). Follow all local regulations on connecting propane fittings.
Install the reserve tank in the bracket and hook up the hose and make sure it is secure. Then open the valve and check for leaks by spraying soapy water on ALL fittings. If soapy bubbles are present, THERE IS A LEAK: DO NOT USE THE SYSTEM. Close the valve and re-tighten leaking fittings immediately then open valve and check for leaks again.
If no leaks can be found and the reserve tank is mounted in a sturdy, secure, and safe place, the system is ready for use.
